The cost of professionally installed permanent outdoor lighting — including Govee permanent outdoor lights — depends mostly on how many feet of roofline you want lit, how high and complicated that roofline is, how many separate runs and power locations it needs, the mounting surface, and which light kit is used. What drives the price
These are the things that change the cost of a permanent lighting installation, roughly in order of how much they matter:
- Feet of lights. The biggest factor. Every roof edge you want lit — main roofline, peaks and gables, garage, porch roof — adds footage and light kits. You can get a rough idea by measuring each edge you want lit.
- Height and access. A second story, steep peaks, or landscaping and slopes under the roofline mean more ladder setup and more time on the ladder.
- Runs and power locations. Lights are laid out in runs, and each run needs power. How far the runs are from an outdoor outlet — and how the extensions get there without showing — affects planning and labor. If there isn't an outdoor outlet where power is needed, that has to be sorted out before install day; we point it out during planning.
- Mounting surface. Vinyl soffit, aluminum-wrapped fascia, and wood trim each call for different mounting. We match the hardware to your surface and explain it in the quote.
- Corners, peaks, and obstacles. Gutters, downspouts, dormers, and inside and outside corners take extra care to keep the line clean.
- The light kit. Kits come in different lengths and models, and manufacturer pricing changes. Check Govee's site for current kit prices.
Comparing “per foot” prices
Many installers talk in price per foot. It's a useful way to compare quotes, as long as each quote covers the same things: the lights themselves, mounting hardware, controller and power setup, how much of the wiring is hidden, app setup, and what happens if something needs attention after install day. A low per-foot number that leaves any of those out isn't really cheaper.

The more we know, the closer the first quote will be: the address, which parts of the house you want lit, whether it's one or two stories, and photos of the front (and any other sides you want lit) if you have them.
